What a kind show. The international message is a point well received, and nice shoutout for OlyBlog and the Book Club. And the rest just made me a wee bit envious.

Goose bumps…
In case you don’t know, the chorus:
Hoeveel moeten er nog komen?
Hoeveel moeten er nog gaan?
Roughly translates to
How many more have to come (happen)
How many more have to go (leave/die)
It’s rap so hard to translate. The song is not only about the murder of Theo van Gogh, but about “zinloos geweld”: senseless violence. They also sing about some other guys who were killed because of trying to interfere in a fight to rescue some poor bugger. The song was made after an increasing number of “zinloos geweld’ happened. I know this has gotten out to the world as we have a lot of violence, but we have not. We just care more, partly because the media gives it more attention. As a result our current (mostly Christian) government preaches “respect” these last few years. It’s a ‘hot’ topic.
